Overall, our Coaches vs. Cancer night couldn't have gone better. Donations kept rolling in and we ended up with around $1000 worth of prizes to raffle off! The highlights included Indy Fuel tickets, Indianapolis Indians tickets, spa night certificates, and over $200 worth of various restaurant gift cards. Friday night, we came early and set up our tables and decorated the hallways. The night started off slow, but got faster as it went on. We were busy almost the whole time, and the raffle booth alone raised over $700. The t-shirt and bracelet sales raised about $500. The chuck-a-duck stand sold out and made $138. The most impressive was the donation buckets that were passed around the stands. It made over $1600! So, the grand total of the night was $3000.13! Our goal was hopefully $1000-1500 and we greatly exceeded that. We were blown away at how generous our community was and how passionate everyone was about cancer awareness. Our project couldn't have gone any better, and it was very fun to create. Special thanks to the athletic department and booster club for all their help!

Our new project is already coming along very quickly. Keegan and I decided to do a cancer awareness night for a basketball game boys and girls doubleheader. After deciding this, we talked to Mr. Large, Coach Whitaker, and Coach Gizzi, to figure out some details. We all agreed that it would be a Coaches vs. Cancer night, and the money would go to that organization. After that, we asked the coaches to contact parents of the teams for some help at their parent meetings. We also asked the Athletic Department to help us out. Everybody has been incredible in helping us. We received Dragons gear already from the Athletic Department and will most likely get more from Tonya Reid and the Booster Club. Keegan and I contacted multiple sports teams for donations as well. The Indianapolis Indians and Indy Fuel were generous enough to already donate us some tickets. We have multiple ideas planned for the night including a Chuck-a-Duck and Photobooth along with the main thing of raffling off themed baskets. We have a sports-themed, Dragons gear, spa night, restaurant, and entertainment basket planned to raffle off. So far, it has been great, and it can only get better.
